Transmission reconditioning involves putting the transmissions back into original specifications with new friction materials, gaskets and seals, torque converters, solenoids, sensors and restore valve body back to new.

Also some transmissions components are updated to a revised spec as well as software revisions, which is all part of the reconditioning process. Reconditioning automatic transmission is often a much cheaper option than fitting a new unit.
